Super Arms

Jennifer Garner has them from hours of combat training. Britney Spears had them, lost them, and got them back by weight training. Madonna has a whole lot of them!
I am talking about arms. Sexy, shapely, lean, toned arms. I want them and you want them.

So what is the trick behind getting those toned arms? It's not really a secret, rather it's the way you train them. Here are two basic principles I stick to when training my clients:

1. Train your shoulders. 2. Train all angles of your arms.

So lets talk about training your shoulders first. Your shoulder consists of three parts. The rear delt, lateral delt and anterior delt. You need to train all three areas in order to get the an even tone in your arm. Exercises to target these three groups are bent over flies, side raises and front raises. Stick to higher reps, anywhere between 15-30 reps and use a very light weight.

Once you have trained your shoulders, your arms are next. Do you know all the different handle bars at the gym? Well it time to use them. V-bar, w-bar, z-bar, rope, straight bar...the list goes on. To tone your arms, it's important to target the muscles from each angle, so when training your triceps continue changing the grip by changing each handle - that way you hit all fibers in your triceps.

Arms need work continuous training. If you really want to tone and define your arms follow these basic principles and you are bound to have arms like Jennifer Garner.
